Picture yourself opening the door to your cabin. You shield your eyes from the sun as you watch the horses roaming the ranch and hills beyond. Hike, fish, and swim the day away, or help out on the ranch. Ride your trusty mount into the hills and forest beyond; return at night and gather around with fellow travellers to exchange tales of the day. Clearwater / Wells Gray and Valemount
Choose from a log cabin or a rustic hostel as the place to lay your head at night. The Wells Gray Guest Ranch is surrounded by beautiful Wells Gray Provincial Park and near the community of Clearwater.
Rustic Comfort
It’s a little rustic, but they have all the comforts of home, including a shower house. You can even head out for a meal at the Black Horse Saloon and Restaurant, which is right on site. There’s also plenty of activities, including horseback riding, to keep you entertained when you’re not busy relaxing. In the winter, bundle up and head out for some epic snowmobiling or back country skiing.
When in Valemount, come and stay a spell at the Willow Ranch in the Canadian Rocky Mountains. You can create your own experience and choose to do as much or as little as you like. Stay in one of their four guest cabins in the middle of the forest with beautiful mountain views. All have kitchens and a separate bedroom.
Outdoor and Indoor Fun
No matter the season, there’s a trail here for you. Hiking, horse, ATV and snowmobile trails surround the ranch. There are trail rides, lessons, demos and workshops as well as ponies who love to hang out with the kids. The Willow Ranch has a variety of specials and events including Cowgirl Weekends and kids’ specials.

If you have your own horse, this is the perfect place to stay. You get the cabin and they have their own pen with shelter.
Talk and Listen to the Horses
During this ranch stay, you’ll learn how to talk and listen to your horse. Then it’s off on an adventure in the North Thompson Valley backcountry on horseback.
