Feel the excitement as you ski on the three commanding peaks at Sun Peaks. Explore over 4,270 acres of skiable terrain and 137 runs with 17 graded areas. There’s no shortage of snow here with 6m (237″) of powder falling annually.

Spend your days exploring the area on cross-country skis. There are over 37 km of groomed and track. Grab the kids and the dog on the pet-friendly route to the McGillivray Lake Outpost warming hut. End the day with a wiener roast.

Downhill Skiing

Feel the excitement as you ski on three commanding peaks at Sun Peaks. Explore over 4,270 acres of skiable terrain and 137 runs. There’s no shortage of slopes for downhill dreamers. Sun Peaks is Canada’s second largest Ski Resort where you can enjoy the unhurried tranquility of this winter oasis. Couple that with 2,000 hours of annual sunshine and you’ve got a ready made vacation.

Choose Your Run

Novice, intermediate or expert: there are lots of runs here! You can ski all day long without having the same experience twice. Ski the steep or the deep. Explore bumps, glades and rails in alpine bowls or the terrain park. Where you ride is up to you.

If you’d like to ski with an Olympic champion — well, just show up almost any weekend in winter to ski with our local legend: Canadian Olympian, Nancy Greene Raine.

First Track Breakfasts

Start your day on the mountain with exclusive access to outstanding alpine terrain. Meet at the Sunburst Express chairlift at 7:45 a.m. and at 8 a.m. head up the mountain on the Crystal chairlift until 9 a.m.

First track tickets include a delicious hot and cold continental breakfast at Sunburst Lodge from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

Centre of the Action

Throw open your doors and step into the Alpine village. This is where the off-slope action happens. The village square is the core of the community. Stroll Village Way, and shop for unique, hand-crafted works of art or a new set of skis. Pop into a café for a winter warm-up, or meet up with new and old friends for some Sun Peaks’ après ski. Just watch out for the skiers winding their way to the slopes!

Discover the Sun Peaks Nordic Trails

Winter escapades aren’t just available for the vertically inclined. Strap on your skis and grab your poles for over 37 km (23 miles) of Nordic skiing through groomed, snow-canvassed paths.

Favourite Nordic Destination

Over the years, Sun Peaks has become a favourite Nordic ski destination. Great elevations and plenty of sunshine mean steady temperatures and dry snow that’s just right for XC skiing.

Hop on the Morrisey Express chairlift for access to stunning backcountry terrain and scenic mountain views off the Holy Cow trail. Or ski with the entire family, including the dog, on the pet-friendly route to the McGillivray Lake Outpost warming hut.

Slide across ski trails, and take in breathtaking views as you glide along rugged backcountry treks and smooth running passages.

Shop and Relax in the Village

After a day in the sun and snow, relax in Canada’s Alpine Village. The village square is where the off-slope action is. There are some great little shops here including a market and a special store for your favourite pooch. Bring your skis in for a tune up, or get some new ones! Art galleries, board shops, a chocolate factory, beer and wine, candy, clothing and more are all in the village.

Hungy? Pop into a café for a winter warm-up or visit one of their dozen eateries. Try some truly Canadian Bannock or savoury and sweet crepes. Pubs, ethnic foods, and some of the best burgers around are right here in the village.
